I’ve become part of the increasing number of people bidding farewell to banking and corporate careers. I spent most of my early career working at the likes of J.P. Morgan, Clayton Utz and Norton Rose Fulbright. Although I learnt a lot in these roles, I was drawn to the innovative way of thinking that working within technology and alternative investments brings. I also love the eclectic group of people it brings together.
I’m an absolute empath. Through friends and family, I’ve seen first-hand the dedication, passion and struggles that founders have that come with owning your own business. I find it extremely rewarding to be able to work in VC, knowing that one of the largest bottlenecks that many founders face is raising capital.
My favorite quote is “everyday’s a school day”. There’s always more to learn and new things to try. There’s also always more to learn about people. My current side project is pressing wedding flowers and bouquets and turning them into framed artworks—this is something I never thought I would be doing!
If you can’t find me, I’ll be somewhere near the sea or snow. Outside of work I love to scuba dive, snorkel and ski. There’s nothing more refreshing than an ocean swim in the middle of winter down the South Coast (and my 2 x German Shorthaired Pointers would agree!).
