I was born in Hawaii, grew up in New Zealand and moved to Sydney for university. I am very much a Kiwi in spirit (and accent) and believe wholeheartedly that it’s not the size of the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog.
Working in Operations and Compliance at AirTree lets me use my legal background in an industry that gets more exciting every day. By helping implement ESG and diversity policies through our companies, we make sure that AirTree positively changes the world.
I love learning. It would be helpful if this manifested in coding or speaking six languages, but instead, I have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the Kardashian family tree.
Young women are constantly dismissed, and their passions classed as “silly”. Real and powerful possibilities exist when we take girls seriously.
I unwind by reading and watching movies. I can’t resist guessing what happens next – or muttering about what should have happened next. Sign me up to rant about the final season of Game of Thrones or just that Squid Game ending…
Don’t slander influencers around me. Social media is not all good, but it gave women especially a platform to celebrate and monetise interests that traditional finance scorned. Making VC as accessible and transparent as possible for underrepresented groups is one of AirTree's most valuable missions.
I believe in making choices out of hope, not fear. Working in VC is a remarkable opportunity to live that.
