I’m an interdisciplinary marketing professional, but there’s something that keeps me coming back to tech. Through my experiences at a meal kit company (HelloFresh), early-stage logistics startup (Ofload), and in tech education (General Assembly), the common thread that I loved seeing was the passion that tech founders and operators bring to their work.
I have a particular interest in the ways we interact online, having written a thesis on social media, data privacy, and surveillance capitalism. Spoiler alert: if you’re not paying for the product, you are the product.
We’re in the midst of an especially exciting time for tech, with changing market conditions fostering a breeding ground for innovation. I’m looking forward to seeing the impact of this on the tech scene in Australia and New Zealand, and hope it comes with an increased prioritisation of inclusion, diversity, and accessibility.
When I’m not at work, you’ll find me in a reformer pilates class, baking focaccia, watching RuPaul’s Drag Race, scouting the best pastries in Sydney with friends, and reading contemporary fiction (ask me about the 52 books I read last year!).
